Jonathan Pentland: Fort Jackson Commanding General Responds to Viral Video

This is not someone who needs to be in a supervisory position. He needs to retire if eligible or be put in a position where he impacts nothing...some sort of QC until he can be separated/retired

'Jonathan Pentland is a U.S. Army sergeant first class who is being investigated over a viral video from Columbia, South Carolina. The 42-year-old Pentland is based at Fort Jackson in Columbia, according to now-deleted photos on his unit’s Facebook page. The video showing Pentland harassing and pushing a young Black male was recorded on Monday, April 12, 2021.

The man obviously has a problem. Not sure if anger management training will improve his behavior. Ft Jackson isn’t the friendliest place in the world; I was there for BCT & AIT in the mid’60s; when I finally got a pass to leave post half-way through AIT & ride a bus into Columbia, I was greeted by a ûsign in the window of the first business I tried to enter that said “No Dogs or Soldiers Allowed!” I turned around and caught the next bus back to post. As to the troubled man in the video: I suggest he be removed from any command or supervisory position he might have now. Give him a desk job and suggest he retire ASAP.
