While there is validity to some of this, there is also a problem with some people expecting others to tip toe around their feelings when sometimes they just need to be told "you are not measuring up" and you need to do better or be put in a different position. I am seeing more and more of that.

What you say is so true ma’am! There is a fine line between being respectful and coddling underachievers. MHO

I have to agree with the Lt Col. I work in health care and it is getting worse every year as staff feelings leach into the work environment detracting from patient care. You’re feelings don’t matter if you’re failing to grasp the concepts necessary to perform the tasks required in our job. When you can perform , not even master, those tasks we’ll consider your feelings.

God Bless you working in health care. While large hospitals and health care providers have been taking over for quite some time, my opinion is everything was accelerated with the Affordable Care Act. These large providers don’t think about the number of people they treat and if they have the resources for it, they just keep accepting patients. My wife just tried to schedule an appointment with her family doctor and the date is August 2021. :( They could get her in to see a Physician’s Assistant next month, but the problem can’t be taken care of by a PA. Their response: If it rises to the urgency of an emergency, then take her to an emergency room. Urgent Response isn’t the answer. This is the state of health care in our nation… and these places are meatgrinders on their employees. We see them, they are overworked and they don’t have enough people to sufficiently run their facilities. They are chewing up good people who take the first opportunity to get to a better position, and I can’t blame them. I am sorry to go on, I guess sometimes we just need to blow off some steam.
