A US military helicopter has destroyed an air ambulance landing pad at a Cambridge hospital, forcing emergency services to land at a nearby airport. The helipad was destroyed by a US Air Force helicopter as it took off, with the power of the double propellers blowing the landing pad apart.
It means critically ill patients will have to be taken to Cambridge City Airport before being transferred to an ambulance and taken to Addenbrooke's Hospital, which is the specialist trauma centre for all of the East of England.

Well the V-22 Osprey is a bit more than a helicopter but think some engineers need to go back to the drawing board.

I think that the engineers that originally designed it (at the Waterways Experiment Station in Vicksburg), and the other 'engineers' that first installed and tested that type of temporary PSP mat at Marston, NC are probably all dead by now.

This was an accident, it landed without much trouble. The US will fix it better than it was and no one was hurt, that is the main thing.
