I am going on a far off tangent. After WWI the Germany conducted a government and a military wide AAR of WWI.

- What was planned? Go on the offensive.
- What happened? It was very difficult to go on the offensive without sustaining huge loss of troops.
- What was the fix? Use tanks, mechanized vehicles, and planes to move quickly.

That is how Bliztkrieg was born. That is why the German military was the most ready for WWII. That is why preperations for future wars are important during the inter-war periods. Our Navy got it right with aircraft carriers. Our Marines and Army got it right with amphibious landings. Our Army Air Force got it wrong with unescorted strategic bombers.

SGT (Join to see) "At 11am on each Remembrance Sunday a two minute silence is observed at war memorials and other public spaces across the UK. The silence is meant as a tribute to those who lost their lives fighting for their country - but what is the significance of that date and time?

On the eleventh hour of the eleventh day of the eleventh month in 1918 the guns of Europe fell silent. After four years of bitter fighting, The Great War was finally over. The Armistice was signed at 5am in a railway carriage in the Forest of Compiegne, France on November 11, 1918. Six hours later, at 11am, the war ended."

When I was going in the Prison as the Volunteer Staff A.L. Coordinator, pre Covid, we would celebrate Vetrans Day for All Veterans in the prison(whether they were A.L. Members or not) and the S.A.L. members. We would cook out, watch an appropriate military themed movie, eat popcorn with a soft drink, & top it off with a pint of ice cream. All the funds for this were raised through the Legion Fundraisers. I miss those days.
