If we are going to keep changing history, people need to learn and understand it first. Antietam was the catalyst that finally brought upon the Emancipation Proclamation and the victory that Lincoln wanted before taking action. There was no question in 1862 that it was a Union victory and is only in question because people want to change names.

Has anyone really considered the economic impact of this? Changes to maps, stationery, signage, just to mention some.

Did you hear Sir about the Wisconsin senator that wants Ft. Bragg named after the Confederate General’s brother Edward who was a Union general? Sure it won’t happen but will save money.

How does this "change history?" Did it get erased from historical records? Books? No. So people can still learn about it. If people are learning history from statues or base names, we have bigger issues.
