Admiral Gordon Chung Hoon

Learn about the first person of Chinese Hawaiian ancestry to graduate from the Naval Academy and go on to become a decorated officer during World War Two.

Thank you my friend MAJ Dale E. Wilson, Ph.D. for honoring US Navy veteran Gordon Pai‘ea Chung-Hoon who was the first Asian American to graduate from the U.S. Naval Academy at Annapolis, Maryland with the class of 1934.
For his actions while commanding the USS Sigsbee, Chung-Hoon received a Navy Cross and Silver Star.
Kudos to Gordon Chung-Hoon.
Rest in peace Gordon Chung-Hoon.
