Taking a knee to make a peaceful statement and assaulting the Nation's Capitol are not even remotely comparable.

Which only raises the question of why they are mad about the knee and not the insurrection.

SPC Jesse Davis - Like I said, they are angry about what the knee represents, calling out racism. Saying that calling out racism is problematic is politically advantageous to their base. There is nothing politically advantageous for the Republicans in what happened January 6th. They'd prefer pretending the whole thing didn't happen.

This investigation is critical if our democracy is to survive. Those responsible for the Jan 6 insurrection must be held accountable regardless of who they are, or perhaps because of who they are.

Testimony entered into the record this morning was inspirational, and the emotional reactions of the committee members were reassuring and very moving.
