SFC (Join to see) My lady friend cautions me to NOT make ANY comments to young ladies I might encounter or happen to observe.
I do my best, but when a young’un with a great rxxk or classic posterior appears, I just quietly comment to Mary Ann, she often concurs with my judgement! Maj John Bell LTC (Join to see) SFC William Farrell SGT Philip Roncari SGT (Join to see)

My wife is the Human Resources Officer for a small environmental lab. She and the senior management team, the five founders of the company, are all in their mid 60's or early 70's. The comptroller is is in her mid 30's. My wife has to regularly counsel the comptroller for disparaging workers, no matter which department in the 50's or above, no matter which department they work in. The comptroller also automatically dismisses any resumes for any financial position because she refuses to work with men in her department. It is beyond me why they tolerate the the comptroller and have not sent her down the road.

My fault is I always comment to my wife about the outrageous clothing, hair, etc. I see on women when shopping. It amuses me that God knows how many people think they are making themselves “individual” by wearing the exact same purple and green hair, or tattoo sleeves that thousands/millions of others are wearing. The “leggings” and what I consider other inappropriate wear for the public are just outrageous. We might as well let people run around naked, it’s pretty much the same.
I learned a long time ago to be careful about speaking with people like this, most are OK but for those looking to make a statement, well they are just looking for trouble and someone to fight with. MHO

Maj John Bell - she doesn't sound like nice person at all. I've worked with/for some excellent men and women and have also worked with/for some I'd never want to see again!

I just recently went through the job search process. I definitely noticed it. Almost every job I applied for, I was overqualified, and provided credentials demonstrating such. No dice. I even had one interviewer straight out ask how old I was and then grimace. And I'm not even *that* old, still in my mid-40s.
The only place that ended up giving me a call-back was a state government job for which I am actually UNDERqualified, but they are experiencing a severe worker shortage AND they have a codified equal employment opportunity law which includes ageism.

I've hit that square on here on RP as well SFC (Join to see). It irritates me no end to see it in the women here - especially those still serving. The very epitome of racist, sexist & ageist behavior.
I do not run into it as much in the work place but then again I've worked from home about 50% of the last 12 years, 100% of the last 12 months.

Of course you are right. It amuses me that some believe because of their sex and color that they can't be a racist. They just need to look a little closer in the mirror. MHO
