President Biden seems to be blaming President Trump for his own inept handling of a rushed and clumsy withdrawal. This NEO should have been accomplished through the more secure Bagram Air Base and should have begun weeks ago. None of the secondary support bases outside of Afghanistan were prepared. For example, Doha was overwhelmed, and overcrowded refugees sent there were forced to live in filth as a result. There wasn't enough military airlift on hand initially, they had to hastily grab civilian aircraft via the Civil Reserve Air Fleet program, and there weren't sufficient forces to secure Hamid Karzai Intl Airport after we abruptly left Bagram. And President Biden's constant checking of his watch during the arrival ceremony for the fallen at Dover AFB was incredibly insensitive and crass. This whole thing has been a disaster.
