So you are saying that rioting is no longer a crime? Didn't see that in the article at all.

First, Portland did not legalize rioting. Second, the Portland Police brought this on themselves, by using excessive force, over and over again, despite court orders to limit the use. If your police won't follow the rules on the use of force, then you tighten up the rules.

This is the same city where members of the riot tactical team all quit the team after one of their members was indicted for assaulting a non-violent protester, and which was caught on video. It's the same city where an Annapolis grad was brutalized by police without having done anything to justify the force, also on video.

..."This bill was passed by a Democrat-run Legislature, with meager Republican opposition in the state Senate. It was passed because Democratic officials in both the city and the state care more about protecting rioters than they do about preventing riots.
