SFC (Join to see) - Even after some day, health care is run by the government, we will still never be a Socialist, Marxist, or Communist country... We will always be a Republic based on a Democracy with it main business function being Capitalism... That will never change... the only things that will change are the middle and lower class workers will have a higher quality of life, insurance won't be giving out 50 million dollar bonuses to CEOs while bankrupting middle class Americans... things like that will hopefully change....

PFC David Foster - I understand what you say and respectively disagree. When non-constitutional (not Constitutional Amendments) laws, and some executive actions, are passed that will supersede the Constitution, such as the Affordable Care Act, DOCA, etc. and the SCOTUS doesn’t immediately strike them down, ad worse yet make excuses for them… one can make a successful argument that we are in a post Republic form of government.

In my opinion the only things that will change is that taxes for everyone will eventually increase in the range of 60% to 80% like they are in everyone’s favorite example of Sweden bears that out. That’s not even considering Sweden’s system won’t work in a larger more diverse society such as ours. I am glad that I will not live to see it, my children maybe, my grandchildren definitely.

SFC (Join to see) - The minimum pay in Sweden is about double what it is in the USA too.... the take home pay after taxes for a low income worker in Sweden is 2000 dollars a month....

When we finally have government run health care in the USA, the main thing that will help will be the government will be able to cut cost so much... It is absolute insanity to have a society where Insurance CEOs are getting 50 million dollar bonuses and lawyers are getting filthy rich by bankrupting middle class citizens for having health problems.

PFC David Foster - You are very trusting wanting our administration, that can be run by either party, to administer all health care. Think about that. I worked in state government for close to 34 years, working very closely with my federal counterparts, and for myself I say: Not just No, but Hell No!.

I do not want nonresponsive bureaucrats controlled by executive political hacks in charge of my health care. As I say this, I realize we are over half way there. It is not going to go well. Sweden, Norway, and countries like them can’t be scaled to predict what will happen in our country. The folks that advocate for government run health care promise much that they are just not going to be able to deliver. I know this to be true from my personal experiences working in government. We will have to agree to disagree.
