Trump’s defence chief acted like ‘madman’ to persuade president not to strike Iran

Former President Donald Trump was talked out of ordering a strike against Iran in the final days of his presidency following the November 2020 election by his acting defense chief, who says in a new interview that he had to act like a “f****** madman” to prevent the attack.
ABC News’ Jonathan Karl writes in his book Betrayal, released on Tuesday, that acting Defense Secretary Christopher Miller explained his extreme mindset in the days and weeks after leaving the administration, as part of an attempt to dissuade the president’s immediate instincts.
That strategy centered around acting like the craziest person in the room, Mr Miller described, explaining that by taking more extreme positions than even the president, he managed to get Mr Trump to back off the idea.

I am going to call BS. Trump is the only president in decades not to start a new foreign war or conflict. People wanted Trump to strike Iran when they shot down a US drone, Trump refused, when the Qudes forces attacked US troops the leader took a dirt nap.

When the SecDef or someone at the meeting weights in I will believe it. Until then it is more BS. There was a meeting, options were presented and eventually rejected by Trump. A lot of people will believe anything that fits into their agenda.
