Some good coverage of Warp Field Mechanics at any level of interest - from skimming through to get an idea about what is being researched, to the technicalities of what is known and still unknown.
The article cites and links to research and publications of Harold "Sonny" White— former director at NASA's Eagleworks division for advanced propulsion physics research.
The video is from the lecture demonstrations laboratory in the physics department at the Naval Postgraduate School.
It cites "empirical research into warp field mechanics and plans for future studies" with a link to "Darpa Funded Researchers Accidentally Discover the World's First Warp Bubble ."
Of course there is a link to Miguel Alcubierre's Warp drive concept.
Clearly NASA and the military are invested in the research. Are all the folks working on the "warp drive" collaborating? If not yet, it is only a matter of time.
No doubt there is similar work in other nations. Wouldn't it be excellent for all those researching to be able to work together - with no strings attached that otherwise could lead to international rifts because of competition for power and control of interstellar space?
Everything happens in its own time. In reality, how could breakthroughs happen without the problem of going to war over political power and control on earth, having first been overcome?

I speak of this often. Mistrust is holding back the advancement of science big time. It also holds back the amount of manpower that could be put into the good of humanity and the amount of money that could be going towards the good of humanity... We have plenty of manpower and plenty of money to make everyone on earth very comfortable while living a high-quality life eating healthy food. One word stands in the way: Mistrust.

PFC David Foster Good point! It is worthwhile to consider the cause(s) of mistrust. I suggest words and some times lack of words, create mistrust - same with actions and behaviors especially when they conflict with words.

SrA Ronald Moore Will do, if updates show up from time to time! It doesn't seem much of a mainstream interest, yet . . . but looks like it might be, eventually. Who knows how long "eventually" will be, lol. RP is one of the few places there is some interest in the topic - outside of those doing the research!
