Yeah, it is the patented, super-marked-up Merck drug, mulnopiravir (sp?) Mentioned in this article.

We have treatments that are MUCH cheaper and proven safe. Even if they are only mildly effective (and some of them appear to be VERY effective), why are we ignoring them? Why are we fast-tracking new drugs with unproven histories, and back-burnering existing (cheap) drugs with proven safety?

There are two possible answers: stupidity and money. I take it back. Three possible answers: stupidity; money; and stupidity AND money. Your choice which answer you want, but none of them are acceptable.
