The 45-70 is a good gun. Good luck getting one at a good price right now.

Might be able to find one in a pawn shop next year. I'm hoping anyway.

SGT (Join to see) - Good luck. I've been on a waiting list with my dealer for over a year and a half.

Gave the 45-70 Springfield Trapdoor to the son in law, Kept the model 1886. Had one of these...sold it or traded it a few years back...the 1886 outperformed it... IMHO. Serial #is a 6 digit... made about 1897. INASFAR as 30-30...I traded or sold the Marlin 336 and kept the Model 1894 Serial # 6 digit, 26" octagon made in 1898. I recon I'm a testament to favoring older Winchester's over Marlins.
