LTC Eugene Chu Apparently some who have "cherry picked" a couple of the accusations but failed to read to the end of this article or flat out ignored two charges that will be determined at his court hearing. I find it difficult that Prosecutors would be taking this to trial without sufficient evidence.
..."De La Cruz is also charged with assault for allegedly punching another sailor in the chest on March 25, the charge sheet states.
He faces another charge for unlawfully consuming alcohol while underway as well."

I keep seeing that he made sailors exercise in coveralls. What is wrong with that?

LTC Eugene Chu I understand. I am not saying he did nothing wrong. But the exercise in class overalls allegation is a recurring theme. And I don't see why this is an allegation at all.

I do not know all I need to know to really comment on this story. I have more questions than answers at present. The charges he faces sound as if the prosecution really is out to find a way to prove something, but they do not know what they are trying to prove.
I suspect the reporter for Navy Times got a bunch of tips and wanted to make a story that would bring down a big bad Master Chief, but he does not know how to formulate a story from what he has. Why do I say that? Look at the lines at the bottom of the "story."
About Geoff Ziezulewicz
Geoff is a senior staff reporter for Military Times, focusing on the Navy. He covered Iraq and Afghanistan extensively and was most recently a reporter at the Chicago Tribune. He welcomes any and all kinds of tips at [login to see] . Since he has no real idea what a reporter does. I was taught in school we dug and found out the W's - Who, What, Where, When, and Why. Instead of working the W's, it appears that Geoff depends on tips to tell the story for him.
