Good Saturday morning my Brothers and Sisters!
It was a stormy night in SW Florida last night, at least in my area along the Caloosahatchee River and the Gulf of Mexico, and it is somewhat cooler (Low 60's) this morning, with heavy overcast skies that look threatening with rain and who knows what else... Yet, I should be grateful, as when I spoke with my wife who is still in the Boston area for another 10 days, it was only 16 degrees with snow in the air!!!
The temperature on board the James Webb Space Telescope has been stable for quite some time now with "Hot Side" (toward the sun) is 128° F and 56° F at its two measuring points and on the "Cold Side" it is -344° F & -331° F, which is the ideal temperatures for peak performance from the JWST! ...and there is no snow or wind out in space! LOL!
NASA has released their plan to commence the Mid-course correction burns necessary to enter the LaGrange Point L2... It sounds simple, but it is crucial to get this right to maintain a stabile orbit around this point...
Just to fill you in a bit more, 96.9434% of the JWST journey has been completed and it leaves only 27,842 miles to go (as I type this) and in space terms, it a very short distance... Cruising speed is down to 0.1327miles/sec! Right this minute, the JWST is 883,305 miles from Earth!!!

Thanks for the JWST update. It's miserable up to your north too. Worse we had to be at a memorial at 0900 so didn't have the option of staying in. To make matters worse the last part of the memorial was outside in the misty rain and wife's medical conditions didn't appreciate that at all. Outside temperature according to the car driving back home said it was 57 out, fortunately we could crank up the heat on both sides of the car!

Cool here as well, Jack... just a tad higher temperature... Looks like a washout, but that is January in FL...
