A Great performance Charlie! Joyce & I traveled into Boston to See Barry Gibb’s Mythology Tour in Mid-May. Joyce zapped me trying to get a shot of her, but our thoughts about the performance are in the "Throwback Thursday" comment of the photo she took (of me taking her picture). The music however, was spectacular!

TLP Throwback Thursday # 33 — May 2014: The Senator and Joyce trek into Boston’s TD Garden for a 1-night concert – Barry Gibb’s Mythology Tour. Sitting atop the ice and parquet of Boston’s famous venue, a fan-packed crowd of 7,000 witnessed Barry (the last surviving brother of the Bee Gees) put on an electrifying performance. Barry’s flawless falsetto was spot-on and although his hairline may be receding there’s still plenty of mane left to manage. Transporting us back to the disco era and the seemingly endless plethora of hits the Bee Gees put on top of the charts Barry honored his two deceased Bee Gees (twin-brothers Robin: d. 1/12/2003 and Maurice: d. 5/20/2012). They were well remembered throughout the performance. The tour band though, didn’t suffer from a lack of Family-Gibb representation and included Stephen Gibb (Barry’s son) and Samantha Gibb (Maurice’s daughter). Sami’s harmonic accompaniment with her uncle Barry doing “How Do You Mend a Broken Heart” almost brought tears to my eyes. In short… The Senator and Joyce had a blast!!! Thank you for sharing your connection with the Bee Gees... no doubt in my mind you both are among the biggest fans. Tell me more about "The Senator"... just curious.

Well, there is a story Charlie, but I'll send you a PM about it on Monday (It's a little funny). We're doing storm prep and I'm packing up for Joyce's place (1 town over and I spend weekends over there regularly) so the story will have to wait til I get back to to my own place. Have a great weekend!

SGT (Join to see) - Sorry Charlie, I was going to fire you off a PM but for some reason you're not in my contacts list; I could have sworn you were, but you're not there. I'll just post it here because I don't see a link for including a picture in a private message.

Howdy Charlie!
First, I am not a state Senator or a U.S. Senator and have never been elected to that office although I have run unsuccessfully for several political offices and have been actively involved in several important campaigns throughout the years. I acquired the ‘Senator Page’ handle early in my civilian career as an instructor teaching large-scale computer systems (Hardware) to field engineers. I started with Burroughs Defense Space & Space & Special Systems and after a few years moved on to Digital Equipment Corp. Large Systems Group. It was at Digital I became known as “Senator Page” in 1974.

The Setting:
We in the Educational Services Group had hired a new Director of Human Resources named Jocelyn Carnes, and in the spring of the following year (as one of her goals) she started conducting workshops in conjunction with an outside consulting group to improve communication between instructional staff and the students we teach (and between ourselves). The workshops ran over multiple days at a resort down near Cape Cod in Hyannis, Massachusetts.

The 1st Exercise:
Most everyone arrived hours before the workshop was scheduled to start (1:00PM). I arrived at 12:30 but Jo had already started as folks had already assembled in the conference area. During the 1st exercise the attendees were broken-out into groups of two and dispersed throughout the conference wing. Since everyone had already been paired off by the time I arrived, Jo decided she would pair with me for the exercise. The exercise was simply to “interview the person you were paired with for 15 minutes; reverse rolls and do it again. When the exercise concluded, the whole group would reassemble in the conference room. One by one, Group by group would make dual presentations to the whole group where the interviewer would introduce the interviewee to the collective group.

The Presentation:
Jo went first with the goal of setting an example for everyone. Jo had been a very skilled interviewer and covered much territory while interviewing me. She disclosed a clear, concise picture of my background and I was glad to see her wrapping things up about my history, however, she continued with her final remark telling the whole group that my life-ambition was to be a U.S. Senator representing the State-of-Michigan. That handle has followed me ever since.

SPC Terry Page - Thank you for sharing how you got the "Senator" title... isn't it amazing how we "acquire" a title or nickname. I too ran for some local offices unsuccessfully... God had a different plan for my life.
In order to message... we have to be a Contact. If interested send me a Connection request... no problem.

I reflect upon my life in totality from the start to now. A prescient entity gave me 9 lives because my heart would be broken over and over again. That is my curse, punishment, or destiny. Perhaps the only reason I survived because I remember the motto; Night Stalkers Don't Quit. I was so close to quitting. Sometimes the soft rain would hide my tears.
