While the protesters are gone I do believe this foreshadows the end of most restrictions unless a new a deadly variant comes along. The people who want to be vaccinated are vaccinated. Even California is removing its mask restrictions tomorrow. We will be moving on to more normal territory as COVID comes to an end, not with a bang, but a long and protracted whimper.

The science hasn't changed as the left likes to say now. The polling has changed.

No, I'm not sure the science has changed all that much, but people's willingness to continue with the measures has. The ones that have been vaccinated are in the WTF, why should we wait for the unvaccinated who are not going to do it anyway? The unvaccinated (outside those who can't get the vaccine) are OK with their choice. Omicron was less dangerous and more contagious so a whole bunch of the unvaccinated got it that way.
Outside a new and really dangerous variant most people are coming to the conclusion we have done what can be done. This is no longer a question of the medical science but perhaps one of social science.

SPC Kevin Ford - It is social science now. People are tired of the conflicting information coming from the elected officials. I believe now that it's being shown that the mask mandates are hugely unpopular, especially in schools, those in politics are seeing the winds shifting and know that if they keep up with all the mandates they won't be in office at the end of the year.
