It's a valid shooting by the officer. In the five screenshots from the video, the first two, on the officer's body cam clearly show that Lyoya is fighting to gain control of the Taser. The next two, from the passengers cell phone, show the struggle continue on the ground. The final photo, also from the cell phone, shows that Lyoya has gained control of the Taser, and is about a second before the officer shots Lyoya.

Capt Gregory Prickett This is why I was holding off on commenting on this one. This officer appears to be in a one on one struggle and I can easily see and understand why the officer (any reasonable officer) would be in fear for their life with the struggle over the taser.

The fact of the matter is, some police shootings are justified.

The video I have seen so far does not match completely what is being reported in the headlines.

The video shows the officer making the traffic stop, contacting the driver after he exited the vehicle, the questioning, the driver starting to move away when the officer grabbed him, the driver running and the officer tackling him, there was a scuffle on the ground, but the video shows the driver wrestled his way back to his feet, the officer and the driver were standing when they were fighting over a TASER.
The video on the news report ended before whatever caused the shots to be fired.
But the end of the video showed both were standing up and facing each other.

The question becomes, how and why did they end back up on the ground after the above (If they did end up back on the ground or was it just bad reporting) and why would the officer have needed his firearm?
I attached the news report with the video below.
