I thought he was crucified on a man made cross. Not hanged from a tree.... Typically the old pagan stories involving hanging from trees feature the air method of sacrifice.... Like odin's sacrifice on the yggdrasil tree to learns mysteries of the universe. Other than Judas iscariot.. No other biblical figure was hanged from a tree to my knowledge.
