1. They chose to accept a plea deal instead of going to trial

Correction to number one: They chose to accept suspension instead of appealing to bar.

The couple got pardoned for criminal charges, but got disciplined by Missouri bar / court

never should have been any charges. Corrupt St Louis AG, looking to score political points, charged homeowners on their own property deterring a mob that had already broken a gate to enter a private community.
