"Will the Marines choose a third Parris Island for initial training?
In the past century, hundreds of thousands of Marines have received their initial introduction to the Corps on Parris Island, South Carolina, but age, technological advancement and the threats of climate change may lead the Corps to choose a third location for initial training."

I was there in May 2020 in the midst of COVID. I was staying at MCAS Beaufort and went to PI to the commissary and the exchange. I saw a few trainees ‘being smoked’. The DI’s I spoke with were great guys! There were COVID issues with many of the classes and some were quarantined to tents.

SPC Nancy Greene The Tradition Will Live On in Every Marine Who Left There Wearing the Eagle, Globe and Anchor, Every-time A Current Or Former Marine Steps on That Ground They Stand a Little Straighter and Hold Their Head a Little Higher, They Can Close The Base But They Can Not Remove the Blood and Tears From The Ground , They Should Put A Memorial There If They Do Close It
