“Top Gun: Maverick” is a love letter to American naval aviation and comes as the Navy faces the toughest recruiting environment in a generation. Faced with a dwindling pool of potential sailors, the service could struggle to meet its Fiscal Year 2022 goal of bringing in 40,000 enlisted sailors and 3,800 officers into the sea service. But if history is any guide, the sequel to the naval aviation blockbuster might not do much to bring in new recruits.
When “Top Gun” hit theaters in 1986 and sold close to 3 million copies on VHS a year later, the Navy hailed the film as a boon to its public image, which was recovering along with the rest of the military following the end of the nationally divisive Vietnam War.
“We love it,” Lt. Cmdr. Bill Clyde of Navy Recruiting Command in Washington, D.C., said in a telephone interview in 1987 with The Lexington Herald-Leader.
“The Navy sees the movie as being very positive, and it has been a plus for Navy interest.”

He said he wouldn't Force the vaccine mandate and he has, he now has finally confessed that he is destroying the fossil fuel industry. Nothing in any of his plans talks about extracting oil from the USA but from our mortal enemies. Now his tax plan goes after the logic of JFK, President Clinton on his second term, President Reagan and president Trump. The Science of socialist ideology that goes against econ and finance 101. I don't foresee any of his policies passing and now they're projecting 25 seats in the house being lost so the Cavalry is coming in November. Drastic changes are coming because of stupidity in the White House and because of ideology on the left. I was listening to the radio this morning, there is a difference between energy Evolution and an energy Revolution. President Biden is making it a socialist energy Revolution whether we like it or not. He also says that the kids in school our his kids not our kids. Even though we live in Canada, I'm still not supporting the president and his minions thinking that the kids can be indoctrinated to their liking it at the parents have no say. So the actual pandemic help parents be aware of the BS the kids are being taught in school and instead of being taught Reading, Writing and arithmetic that are being taught gender identity and other things that are messed up it shouldn't be taught below the eighth grade. That is another issue but everything this Administration touches it ruins and people die.

“I will tell you that it definitely had an effect on recruiting if only on one guy, which is me,” Capt. Brian Ferguson, the technical advisor to the sequel, told The New York Post in a Friday story.
“I saw the movie, thought it looked like the most exciting job in the world. And it is.”

It may help. I know some recruits will not get the coronavirus vaccine. We already saw some from the Air Force Academy graduated but didn't get commissioned. This movie pissed off the Communist Chinese and that's why they pulled out of the 11 million dollar Venture that they had invested and I'm sure it's not going to be shown in China. Screw the Communist Chinese!
