Interesting article, You were only a little Northwest of where I was stationed at Da Nang in 1968-69. I currently live in Massachusetts and and actually went to college in Bristol , RI at Roger Williams University which Isn't all that far from You guys. I did enjoy going into Newport, RI which is a pretty nice area. I spend a lot of My Time in American Legion Post 208, Millis, MA the town I live in. Did 5 terms as Post Commander, current 1st Vice Commander and also Post Service Officer.

SFC William Farrell - ok, I had seen that museum but hadn't been inside yet. It seems however the reenactors from that Artillery Company have participated and appeared in many things including reenactments all over Rhode Island including events in Bristol, RI. Actually i think i'd like to see that museum and get together with You. There is so much great History in that area and so much too see. I have visited other places like Fort Adams in Your area. . My wife has cousins that live in Portsmouth, RI not far from You and had an Aunt and uncle there also and He was USN Retired.

SFC William Farrell - Just checked the Facebook Page for Your artillery company and saw You, LTC Farrell of that company in Your period uniform from the Revolutionary War era. One meber of My own family Lt. Colonel Ezekial Howe, was the Commander of the Militia Minutemen from Sudbury, Massachusetts that marched against and battled the British at Old North Bridge in Concord, MA on April 19th 1775. Two other Howe's marched with Him. (My Grandmother's maiden name was Howe of the Sudbury and Marlboro Howe's) That was My Dad's mother. The Sudbury Minutemen marched from the wayside Inn, (which had been Howe's Tavern) to Concord. The wayside Inn is the oldest operating inn within the United States.

SMSgt Lawrence McCarter - Well when you get down here, Ill give you a tour. I just had that uniform made about six months ago. I swore I'd never wear a uniform. Wore my Army one for 26 years, police, fire, cub scouts, boy scouts etc but when I became second in command I needed to.

Cool article. Glad you both safely returned. I was a guest for a 101st Infantry BN and I felt the raw emotions. I will never forget the electricity that was in the air.

Can I ask a favor from you? I wrote a PTSD Paper that has helped many veterans. Perhaps you can read it? I don’t want anything except to help heal veterans with PTSD. A no reply will suffice as an answer.

SFC William Farrell - Thank you. Please share it with the VFW. For your edification I am rewriting it to add more substance to it, it will be tailored made for veterans, and I will make it more stylistic. Veterans will relate better with the rewrite. Civilians will have no clue, thus I need to write a civilian version as well. My reward is when a veteran heals.
