Democrats have a new trick up their sleeve - spending millions supporting GOP candidates they think they can beat. In Illinois they have tried it in the past and it did not work. Four years ago the Democratic Governors Association ran ads saying Jeanne Ives was "too conservative" for Illinois hoping that would boost her appeal to Republicans in Illinois - it didn't and Bruce Rauner got the nod from Republicans. As well this meddling is set against the backdrop of the Jan 6th hearing looking to sway independent voters. Normally I would say this is an interesting tactic however as voters know what's up and Biden's low approval ratings spending millions to support weak GOP candidates is wishful thinking.

Yes, I think they realize (not sure) Clinton's approach to sway voters by calling voters a-holes was not a good idea so now its a similar attempt to define Republican candidates as a-holes by labeling them as tough on crime, Christians rooted in family values. I don't think they realize what they may end up doing is get hard right candidates elected especially considering the low low number of Biden. Hey its their money and as they have a tendency to spend millions on "dis-information, lies, and fixing elections" not surprised this is the way they are going to spend their dark money. The alternative is to support their own candidates and their platforms. Voters are wise and know what's up - if they rather spend money supporting their opponents their candidates must have a really bad platform. Designed inflation via drilling bans, designed economic downturn via green new deal, poor policy on immigration leading to drugs and dead people in tractor trailers, high crime via defund the police I get why just not so sure its going to work.

It doesn't stop there. I am way too lazy to hunt the article down, but I also read an article from the libs explaining that the million or so folks who fled the Democrats for the GOP was a feature, not a bug.
It was part of a coordinated strategy to register Republican for the sole purpose of voting in the primaries and meddling there, as well.
