Well, Biden's only requirements for his pick was the sex and color of the candidate. Just like his pick for the Supreme Court. So, why not pick as your running mate the woman who says she believes all the women who accused him of sexual misconduct?

LTC John Moncure - sir, if her record while she held the CA AG and as a Senator are indicative of acheivement, her method to aspire is exhibited by the blisters on her knees. She is far, far from being a "perfectly qualified candidate." In fairness however, few inside the Beltway are any more qualified, or at least suitable.

He didn't discriminate against anyone. He nominated a fully qualified supreme court candidate and selected a fully qualified running mate. In my lifetime we've had a vice president who couldn't spell potato! Anyone who doesn't see race (and gender) is likely to be an accidental racist. The issues are real and pretending to be "color blind" overlooks them.

LTC John Moncure - When you pick a pack of potential nominees based on their race, that means you're excluding others based on their race. That's the classic definition of racism.
