Here we go again. If true, Monkey Pox is a reprise of the AIDS epidemic during which we were forbidden to talk about the preponderance of cases occurring in the Gay community because this would be discriminatory. We were forbidden from taking rational steps to contain the epidemic until effective treatments could be crafted because this would be discriminatory against gays. No, I am not homophobic. I care about Gays. I would like to see them taken care of. I don't want the government trying to control me by covering up the truth about this new epidemic.

Some of our good friends back in Seattle were a gay couple. This was back in the early 90s when, if you did just a little bit of research, you discovered what AIDS was all about. We would sing Karaoke in their bar a couple times a month. Michael and Martin were some great people - and unfortunately Martin had AIDS. Did not stop either of us hugging him or kissing his cheek.
But, leave it to politicians (even if they call themselves scientists) to turn something that should be focused into a wide scare. And here we go again!
