Kelley was pregnant with Caresa when she served at Camp Lejeune in the early 1980s, but it was decades before she learned about the toxins she and her unborn baby were exposed to. Since then, she's been fighting for benefits to help pay for Caresa's costly medical care.

Caresa has been in and out of psychiatric hospitals, sometimes costing tens of thousands of dollars a month. Kelley has held fundraisers and gone to extreme means to pay.

“Deplete savings, get loans, take out retirement, investment money to get her the treatments that she needed,” she said."...
