David McCullough, Pulitzer-winning historian, dies at 89

If you haven't read any of his books you're missing out. Truman, Mornings on Horseback, 1776, John Adams, The Greater Journey - all great.

Just finished John Adams. I felt sad, a loss when the book ended! Very good author.
