To the best of my knowledge , this has yet to be tried anywhere. In theory the nitrogen would replace the oxygen in your system and lead to a more humane death. Since it is colorless and odorless and non acidic, seems lie a possibility to me.

SP5 Dennis Loberger My Catholic Upbringing makes Me very Anti-Capital Punishment but as a Diver I'm familiar with Nitrogen Narcosis and If You're going to, the Most Painless Way I Know of.

..."Bucklew's proposal should have included how the nitrogen gas should be administered, in what amounts, how long it would take to work and how to keep the execution team safe, he said.

The Court also ruled there was no evidence to support Bucklew's claim that hypoxia would be less painful. He was executed in 2019 by lethal injection."

Don't care how they carry it out...just quit using my tax dollars to keep convicted and last appeal death row inmates alive...the longer they are there the more agony on the victims families...just end it.
