MAJ Dale E. Wilson, Ph.D. What is very interesting to me as I read this great document, is that my 5th Great Grandfather, William MacClure also served in the 2nd Regiment of the New York continental Line, under Col. Cortland, Capt Charles Graham's Co. I am a proven member of the Sons of the American Revolution with Pvt William MacClure as my Patriot ancestor.

I had my dad's mother's grandfather who served in a regiment from Duchess County, NY: Pvt. Isaiah Benjamin Dibble.

PO2 (Join to see) - My Family is of Scotts descent, and in Scotland, as I understand it, the "Mac" part of a Scots surname indicates the person is a "Son of....". The "a" was dropped by many a Scot families after arriving in the colonies to better Americanize the name. Note, the second "C" is capitalized indicating the Clan "Clure" and the first "c" is a small letter.
