Good morning, Rallypoint, and welcome to the December 1st edition of Astronomy Picture of the Day (APOD): "Artemis 1: Flight Day 13." I was wondering if the Ars Technica photo I posted yesterday would rise to APOD status. It did (unsurprisingly). This view of our Earth and its Moon is certainly not one we usually see. Artemis/Orion is scheduled to return to Earth on December 11th.

Great graphics! Reminds me of being a kid watching the Gemini and Apollo Missions. This Artemis 1 Mission has much better graphics. :)

The Soyuz MS-08 spacecraft landed in Kazakhstan on 4 October 2018, at 11:45 UTC (07:45 EDT, 17:45 local time) with the International Space Station Expedition...
SFC (Join to see) MSgt Robert "Rock" Aldi I'm not sure who should envy who. A Soyuz landing includes an explosive ground-directed blast just prior to impact/touchdown (6:26 in this video). I think I'd prefer a water landing.
