The northern lights are fascinating to watch. My indigenous wife says that you don't look at the light because those are the spirits and they can take your life away. That's just their culture but we know the reality that is electromagnetic field of the Earth. I get to see them on occasion and it is a weird glow up here. I am 53° north latitude.

LTC (Join to see) There was a couple times when I was a kid, I was sent out in the winter to hunt down our cows. both times there was a low cloud cover and the lights were down in SE Ohio. It was weird to see them (by the looks) just above the clouds a couple hundred feet above my head, just dancing away. it was both beautiful & spooky.
