There are at least three, probably more, Marys in the Bible.
Of course everyone is aware of Mary, Mother of Jesus.
Mary, the sister of Joseph that Jesus raised from the dead.
Lastly, that I am sure of, Mary Magdelene who Jesus cast 7 Demons out of. She was also believed to be the Mary who was first to the tomb after the Resurrection.
Mary was the most common girls name from that era of the bible so many of the stories about a woman named Mary could also involve one of these three.

MSgt Dale Johnson - I was required to study Holy Scripture quite a bit prior to my ordination. However, I do not claim to be a biblical expert. So I checked everywhere for any reference to a "Mary" the Sister of Joseph who was raised from the dead. There are no mentions of this "Mary" in any of the major translations which include the Received Text of the NT, Vulgate, and the Peshitta (Aramaic). I don't believe the LDS make any changes to their Bible, but I know that the Jehovah's Witnesses have changed the emphasis of some passages. Lazarus, the brother of Mary (of Bethany) and Martha was raised from the dead. Mary Magdalene did have 7 demons cast out of her by Jesus and it was Mary Magdalene who anointed Jesus' feet in Mark 12:3. The same report of the anointing of Jesus' feet is related in John 12:1-3. This Gospel clearly indicates that Mary (of Bethany) was the "Mary" doing the anointing.
