This reminds me of a time circa 86 of a lazy sunny weekend on Walter George Reservoir in a small canoe casting a rubber nightcrawler out front. A very large gar scared me awake. :)

It's a prehistoric looking fish, biggest one I ever caught was about 18", not intentionally :) Saw them quite a big bigger

The one that scared me that I mentioned looked to be over 5’. In the small canoe I was in he could have done me some damage in the middle of the lake. I pulled my worm out of the water quick.
