I am of an opinion no one should be able to leave any government or military position and still retain a security clearance. If they get a job with a contractor that requires one, say 5 years after they retire (that's another subject open to debate), let them start from scratch., and only at the level they need. That's just the way it needs to be.

SFC (Join to see) - They should follow the same rules as the rest of us. Two years after you leave a TS/SCI billet by virtue of leaving the government (even as a contractor) you lose your clearance, and a new investigation is required if you return. However, I assure you that whoever employs them after they leave the government, will place them in a billet to maintain the clearance. While this can be abused (i.e. the individual is placed there, but does not really need it), it is essential for many of us to be able to retain the clearance at least for a period of time, without having to worry about losing the clearance the sec you walk out the door. These things require a lot of time and money and impose a lot of wasted productivity as many would have to wait for their clearances to be reinvestigated after being hired.

It's about time some people are finally noticing how some use their authority to change an election.

Each and every one of the "intelligence" officials who signed that letter should apologize, have their clearances revoked, and never be trusted to provide an intelligence assessment ever again.

Their suggestion that it was the media's fault only pours salt on the wound. They never said a damn thing when both the media and several elected officials/candidates used their letter to counter the Hunter Biden story.

But the simple fact is, they should never have penned such a letter in the first place. Their actions made them the purveyors of disinformation.

It is obvious their intent was to change the result of an election… Mission Accomplished! For them. I agree thry should never be able to hold another clearance.
