Strange how those that don't find SNL to be funny will certainly click on the link about a SNL skit and take the time to say how they don't think SNL is funny. What are people supposed to do with this information?

Often they will then express how they don't watch it anymore, so how can they then opine that it is not funny if they are not watching it?

You bring up a good point. I guess I should rephrase my post to, "I used to find them funny consistently back in their "Golden Age", but don't anymore. I still occasionally check them out if someone posts a video that might be funny or I hear some buzz about it .. but other than that, I don't bother with them."

While they absolutely had skits that were in bad taste every now and then and did a lot of political ones, those were mostly humorous, bipartisan (equal opportunity offender) and somewhat tasteful. From what I've seen in the last 10 or so years, they have become very predictable and partisan.

I'll chuckle at a good skit that makes fun of Biden, Trump, Republican, Democrat, or any other demographic, but the key there is it has to be a good skit.

They still make a few every now and then, but the majority seem to mainly appeal to the partisan viewer. Regardless of quality, if they make fun of Trump, then the partisan that dislikes him will think it's one of the best skits they've seen. Likewise, if they make fun of Biden, then the partisan that dislikes him will think likewise.

COL Randall C. - This skit here is objectively funny. They did a double blind study at Cal Tech and proved, empirically, the funniness of this sketch...

I do agree with SSG (Join to see) though that the heyday of SNL was a long time ago. The majority of skits they do anymore aren't really funny - just a string of partisan jokes acted out.

They do hit a few home runs every now and then though (can't say this one was, but I'll put it in the class of "a bit funny and low-level partisanship").

I haven't found SNL to be funny for the last 20 years, even when they tried to make fun of Biden.
