I'm curious in what history is being "re-written" by replacing a statute of Columbus? He didn't discover anything. He was a sadistic tyrant who was jailed by the Spanish monarchy because of how murderous and sadistic he was to the native people. The same people who led the Inquisition were shocked by Columbus' barbaric acts. Think about that for a minute...why would you ever laud someone like that?

Columbus is no hero. He didn't discover the Americas. He didn't ever discover what is the US. He landed somewhere people already inhabited, murdered, raped and pillaged them. That's it.

Also who are you people getting your history SOLELY from statutes?
