Great article that speaks the truth. But with that said I don't think RP should include civilians (not including the ones on RP staff of course). I say this because me personally, I don't give a damn what some civilian who has never served thinks about the military. If they ask me an intelligent question I will give them an intelligent response.
If they ask me a stupid question I walk away.

However, a big objective of this site is to help with employment and transition as I understand it. Why would we not include civilians who are part of the civilian employment and transition piece as part of the discussion and this group? I would think that the ones who would go through the process to sign up for RP are going to be those who want to actually do something more than just put a magnet on the back of their cars. As I've said many times, there is a difference between being Veteran Friendly and Veteran Supportive. I think the ones who would come to this site would be those who are Veteran Supportive.

That makes sense. In that case I would suggest some type of "limited" RP access to Veteran Supportive civilians that allows them to post job listings and the like, but nothing else.

I think including civilians in RP diminishes what RP is. Facebook and other social media sites exist and are much more appropriate for the mingling of service members and civilians. I come to this website to help others and receive help from people with a similar background. If I wanted advice from other people I'd ask my questions on any number of groups I am apart of on Facebook.
