Portland students walk out of school to protest gun violence

Hundreds of Portland students left their classes on Wednesday to protest gun violence in a march downtown. Holding signs with gun violence statistics and messages such as “kids over guns,” students took turns at the mic, giving passionate speeches demanding action from lawmakers and elected officials.
“I care that I have to think about going to school and dying, I have to think about my brother going to school and dying,” said one protesting student who didn’t state their name. “I have to think about not coming home today.”
The student asked: “Why do you only care that it should be your right to own a gun? Why do you not care that it should be our right to live?”

Everytown for Gun Safety said students at more than 300 schools in 42 states and Washington, D.C., walked out of class on Wednesday to call for gun safety reforms. Students in the Nashville area walked out on Monday.
Rev. Bernice King, the daughter of slain civil rights activist Martin Luther King Jr., suggested that students “refuse to return to school until there is some significant legislation that bans assault weapons.”
Portland Public Schools said students are “rightly angry,” per a statement shared by the Portland Mercury."

So do they approve of Murder but just not with a firearm?
Criminals do not care what the laws are and if they will do something as heinous as killing an innocent person or people why would they care about owning an illegal weapon?
If a ban were to be passed on Assault Weapons what are they going to do when the next guy uses hand guns in a mass shooting, ban those? Then when someone uses a Knife or axe?
How many are killed by people looking at their cell phone when driving? That is a significant number but there are no protests about those.
Evil People will do Evil things, People are the problem that needs to be addressed.
