That is a very interesting post and I'm familiar with the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution having been a member of the Falmouth (Cape Cod) Massachusetts Police Department which a section of the Town was Woods Hole. I had worked a Police Patrol beat that included Woods Hole so did meet many of the people that worked there. Often I took a coffee break at a Falmouth Fire station that was located in Woods Hole and also had some coffee also at the Oceanographic Institution as well as the Steamship Authority within Woods Hole. Within My last few weeks at Falmouth Police I had made an arrest of a drunk driver that drove up onto a sidewalk between a telephone pole and building on the opposite side of the road from WHOI and hit a pedestrian and badly injured Him. The Pedestrian owned a Restaurant I sometimes ate at so I knew the owner that was hit. I had to return to the Cape to go testify in Court on that arrest i had made after I had already started work on Sherborn (MA) Police Department. Falmouth PD paid Me for My appearance as I was still their employee when the arrest was made.

Good share. I just heard that the Titanic mission was a secondary part of a clandestine Navy mission. Very cool!
