How much of a threat does Russia's Pacific fleet pose to the US?

“While we routinely monitor Russian naval activity around the world, we are not able to provide intelligence assessments of their disposition or capabilities,” said Army Maj. Charlie Dietz, a Pentagon spokesman.
Personally, I think his comment is simply a way of saying that whatever our intelligence services might know, they're simply not releasing this knowledge to public, and I think that's a prudent course of action. It seems highly unlikely to me that we have just stopped paying attention to Russian naval forces, wherever they might be located.
However, I also personally believe that our current administration is not doing all that could be done.

Doing a half a job sometimes is the same as doing nothing much at all. I may not know who is running our government - but do know who is running Indo-PACOM - and he is one of the few senior leaders that I fully trust. And you can bet he is monitoring that. :) He was my boss when I was doing my JS 31 time.

I'd worry more about the Chinese. These islands they are constructing could pose a threat. Might harken back to the island hopping campaigns of WW II

It does harken back to the WWII island hopping. Each are like Rabul - which was a strategic base for the Japanese... until it ran out of planes and fuel and finally food. Each of those islands have two real weaknesses to them. The first is water. You can make water - but its vulnerable where you pull it in and where you store it. Without it - its a prison. The other part is that you have to resupply - and those ships and aircraft are vulnerable. Re-supply can become a major action and draw forces needed elsewhere. Worse comes when the point of re-supply is destroyed - and the alternatives.
They can be effective as a holding tool - but when things stay out of range - it is serving its purpose. But there are means to deal with them...
