If we hadn't had Levi's there wouldn't be Wrangler. I just look for the ones that fit...not always the same brand or size which is very strange.

The back story was that Strauss came to California during theGold rush days and had the denim material to make tents for the prospectors. Once there, he saw not many had tents, but no one was buying tents. The prospectors didn't need a tent so, no tents were sold. Instead, he saw that those persons clothes/ especially their pants were ragged and torn with holes and the whole nine yards... so, instead of Tents he had the idea of using the denim for Jeans/ dungarees . Using the rivets to keep the pockets and such even more durable.
He came to California to sell tents and ended up becoming wealthy through making Jeans for those prospectors.
