Very sad. The question is why did she have access to a knife like that?

PO1 William "Chip" Nagel
..."Hours before she died, officials announced that constable White was charged with recklessly causing grievous bodily harm, assault occasioning actual bodily harm, and common assault. However, he’s likely to face additional, upgraded charges related to Nowland’s death.
White had already been suspended with pay. He is set to appear in court on June 5.
Under Australian law, police officers are permitted to use stun guns when lives are in danger.
Body camera footage from White and the other officer at the scene has not been released. NSW police commissioner Karen Webb said she had not seen the footage yet and that it would remain private until the investigation ended.
“Mrs. Nowland and her family deserve that this is done properly. This will take time,” Webb said. “We need to ensure that the officers involved in this matter are afforded procedural fairness, and that anything that we say [does not] prejudice the investigation.”"
