Devil's advocate defense for him: Senator Graham was used to dealing with UCMJ as a USAF lawyer. Indictment against Trump was based on federal criminal law since Donald is a civilian and ex-president. Charges are not just about possession but about allegations of concealment efforts.

“You know, I have taken the president on when I think he’s wrong, but what they’re doing to President Trump is a game changer for the presidency,” he said, appearing to reference his short-lived condemnation of Trump following the Jan. 6 insurrection.
