This is a study of how "Stand Your Ground" laws have affected overall homicides in States with and without them. What I find interesting in the year by year charts is shortly after enacting the laws there is an increase and then a dramatic drop. I think of it as the self-correcting effect. As we get into the last couple of years with the crime rates going up so have the homicide rates. but nowhere near the spike created after the passage of the laws, and it seems to be falling off again, statistically. So I think it's a net positive.
