In 1983, my sister was involved in a car accident and destroyed my dad's 1978 Fords Granada. He bought a 1976 Mercury Cougar XR7. I know it's very similar to the Starsky and Hutch car but it had a gutless 351 2 Barrel. I didn't know that they had the optional 351 Cobra Jet that put out 265 horsepower.
It was not a sporty car. It looked cool but it was not fast.
