I have followed this story for a while. Oher is way out of line. The Tuohys went out of their way to help Michael. Collins, the daughter, is a brain and was in honors classes and switched to help Micheal in his classes, she took notes helped him organize classroom material etc.The Thouys hired a tutor for Micheal. When Micheal started living with the Thouys he was functionally illiterate. The Thouys paid the taxes on Micheals share of funds from the movie. If the Tuohys had adopted Micheal, at 18 Micheal would have been on his own. Under a conservator ship they could help Michael until mid twenties with health insurance etc.. Micheal wrote a biography years ago in which he acknowledged the conservator ship. People who know Micheal say his personality has changed.
