More than four years ago, then-President Donald Trump declared an ambitious goal that had bipartisan support: ending the HIV epidemic in the United States.
Now, that Trump program is one of several health initiatives targeted for substantial cuts by members of his own party as they eye next year's elections.
Pushing a slate of conservative political priorities that also takes aim at sex education for teens, health worker vaccine mandates, and more, Republicans in the House of Representatives have proposed a spending bill that would cut $1.6 billion from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention — one-sixth of the agency's budget.

It's interesting that liberals are for masking (almost no evidence that it prevents COVID or the flu) but seem to be against condoms which have a high success rate of preventing HIV. Go figure.

Chip, I have to give you credit. The strength it took for you to say anything that wasn't bad, let alone good, about Trump must have been soul-wrenching for you. It was mitigated by the ability to portray Republicans negatively, so that must have supported you during your trying time. Kudos!
Very good point Charlie. According to the CDC (https://www.cdc.gov/hiv/statistics/index.html) 92% of HIV infections come from sexual contact and the other 8% are from drug users reusing needles.
If anyone on the Left really cared about people instead of an issue, they would push for common sense disease prevention (according to the left, if you put "common sense" in front of whatever you're pushing, then anyone that disagrees is a unrealistic radical).
